What happens when you die?

Diablo's first and second installments handled death differently, both in terms of exp\gold penalties and also in if you respawned or not or instead had to reload from an earlier point.

Answer

When you die, your character respawns in the last check-point. You respawn with full health, and resources, and in the same game state (so no monsters are resurrected).

If you are level 10 or above, you lose 10% of the durability of each of your items.
