Is it possible to play Halo 1 over System Link/LAN between an Xbox and an Xbox 360?

Question

Is it possible to play Halo: Combat Evolved with System Link/LAN between an Xbox and an Xbox 360?

Asked by michelemarcon

Answer

Yes. You can play any backwards compatible games (which includes Halo 1) via System Link between an original Xbox and an Xbox 360. You can't just connect the two Ethernet ports together, however as the original Xbox requires a crossover cable. You can however, plug them both into the same router. You will need a disc per console, as with any System link play.

How do I save/backup Halo (Combat Evolved) configuration and player saved checkpoints?

Question

So yes, if you read the title it IS Halo: Combat evolved, got it a few months ago.

It's time now to re-install and re-organize everything on my machine, so that would mean whacking everything very soon. I need to save my player checkpoints. I mean, I don't want to lose the checkpoints I've passed.

I have Win7 x64 and I see this path has something like savedgames :

C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\Halo

Is this only it? Do I only need to copy this folder or are there others?

Regards.

Asked by gideon

Answer

Yes, that is the only folder you need to copy to back up your saved games (I've done this before). Be sure to patch Halo after re-install before copying back the save data, as I believe the patch causes the game to overwrite that folder.

Is there a place that compares Halo CE and Anniversary glitches

Question

Is there a site or someplace that has a list of glitches in Halo CE and compares them to ones that still exist in Halo CE Anniversary?

I've notice many still exist, like the 3 weapon glitch, and the ride the pelican, but I've also noticed some that were removed, like the getting on top of silent cartographer. Is there a nice list I can find somewhere that discusses what 'fixes' were made?

Answer

You can still get on top of the Silent Cartographer, I've been up there you can move through the all the new scenery up there. Halo Anniversary literally is Halo CE with new graphics thrown over it, a vast majority of the code is exactly as it was in Halo CE. I'd wager that all of glitches in Halo CE are still present in Halo Anniversary.
