Does Battlefield 3 have bots/skrimish maps?

Question

I just loved to play Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam with bots offline where I could choose map, positions etc., does Battlefield 3 also support playing maps with bots (not other players)?

Answer

According to Patrick Bach, Executive Producer of Battlefield 3:

No. We won't have bot-matches in the same way.

There are no bots in Battlefield 3.

BFBC2 "Unable to login" when entering serial number

Question

So I installed this "Origin" crap, bought, downloaded and installed Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Now, when I launch the game and login with the same account I use to buy it in Origin, I'm asked to enter my serial number, which I do, but after hitting the submit button I get the "Unable to login" error, every, single, time.

I can't seem to find out where to enter it on the Origin or EA site, so how am I supposed to register my game?

Edit: Okay, so I found the "Redeem product code" in the Origin app, but now when I try to login to BFBC2 with the same account it still asks for the serial, but then says it's already in use, what the hell is going on here?

Answer

Searching this error message on the EA support center gets me this article. In a nutshell:

  1. Turn off 'remember password' and log in again.
  2. Delete the BFBC2 folder that should be located in your Documents folder and log in again.
  3. Open a ticket if all else fails.

How to control a Helicopter

Question

I wany to know if some of you, pro gamers :D, know how to train controlling an helicopter. This because I love Battlefield P4F, but I still can't control an heli as I would wish. So, is there any free simulator (don't say FlightGear please) so that I can train, or is there any tutorials teaching the techniques?

Also, I can't use a joystick.

Thanks, Scorch

Answer

Ok I don't pilot plains and helicopters in games but I can recommend to you Microsoft flight simulator purely on the basis that there are tons of tutorials and guides for helicopters and plains which you can follow to help improve your flying skills in a very accurate physics simulator. In addition to this there are tons of websites that can help you with your flying skills even more e.g. http://www.hovercontrol.com/.

I hope this helps

Can I use my Battlefield 2142 account to play Bad Company 2 multiplayer?

Question

I had a blast playing Battlefield 2142 and all this recent hype for Battlefield 3 made me go out and get Bad Company 2 for PC. I've tried logging in to BC2 multiplayer with my old 2142 account, but the BC2 interface uses an email instead of the plain username that 2142 accounts used.

Can I convert my BF2142 account into a BC2 account?

Answer

Yes and No - yes you can use your old EA account to play BF2 and no you cannot connect with your 2142 account. Before there were 2 accounts: EA account for game-support etc and 2142 account to log in the game. Now it is just one - EA account (your email address is used a login).

You can access battlefield veteran page and use your 2142 account to get a veteran status for your EA account.

Battlefield 2 widescreen support

Question

Is there a way to support widescreen views(1920x1600) in Battlefield 2?

Answer

I tried this out recently, and all I could find was at WSGF but it works pretty well. Since then, this is now officially fixed in Battlefield 2 patch 1.5:

I can confirm the latest Battlefield 2 patch (version 1.5) "fixed" the widescreen issues. Although the main menu and some HUD bars are stretched, and not in "proper" view.
