Can I play a song all the way through?

Question

Sequence's battles are fun enough, but sometimes I like the mindless fun of pressing arrow keys in rhythm to the music without the focus of switching boards etc. I noticed the "Mana" board has the same arrow pattern going on each time, and is the same as the board you use to unlock spells.

Is there any way, once I've already unlocked a spell, to play a song all the way through with just one chart and no enemy to worry about?

Answer

Yes. You can play songs in practice mode (same thing you get when practicing a scroll before learning it) with the song's full pattern via the bonus menu.

From the main menu, select "bonus". In this menu, you can listen to all the songs you've unlocked so far. If a song has an arrow pattern, there will be an up arrow button between the next/previous buttons. Clicking that (or hitting 1) starts the song in practice mode.

Can I safely desynth raw materials from previous floors?

Question

So far, it looks as if all the recipes you gain on one floor of the tower consist only of materials obtained from that floor.

Once I have cleared a floor and crafted all its recipes, can I desynth all the left-over materials or do they come in handy later on?

Answer

So it seems you can desynth most leftover materials after you've gone through all of the floor's recipes.

The exceptions are Crystals, which might be obtained before you have a recipe that involves them. Different Crystals can be synthed into a Half Prism and a Prism Half, which, together with an item dropped by the final boss, can be synthed into Iridium.

Doing so unlocks a bonus floor of the tower (floor "???").

Are experience gems useful for anything other than desynthing?

Question

I got an experience gem from a battle. If I desynthed it I'd gain 75 XP.However, it seems it's a fairly... unfrequent drop.

Are experience gems useful for purposes other than desynthing? Are they used in recipes and the such?

Answer

Short answer: no.

Exp gems are only used for desynthing. I've played the through twice and never found any recipes that invole these gems. Holding on to them to use the gems later does not do anything either, as their amount will always be absolute and not scale to your level.

What does the Spectrum stat on enemies mean?

Question

In Sequence, for each enemy, you can see various stats. What does the Spectrum stat mean though? I've posted an example of 2 different enemies. Spectrum

Answer

The Spectrum statistic correlates to the approximate percentage of colored gems a particular enemy will throw at you. It's explained in the tutorial that the color of gems is related to the damage it does. White is base damage, Blue does 2x the damage of White, Green does 3x, Yellow does 5x, and Red does 10x. The base damage seems to vary based on the enemy's Offense stat.

For example, ~60% of the gems the Whompa throws at you are White, compared to the Goldem, where ~90% of the gems are White. The larger blue area in the Spectrum stat on the Whompa means it has a much higher probability of attacking you with Blue gems than the Goldem. The wider the colored sections are, the higher the percentage is that they will throw higher damaging gems at you.

Is there any way to increase my crafting success rate?

Question

I can't recall if this was mentioned in the tutorial or not and I can't seem to find a way to review the tutorial. Each item has a specific chance of success based on its crafting difficulty. Is this set in stone for each item, or are there ways I can influence this success rate at all, like by leveling up, using an item or scroll that increases the success rate (if they exist), etc.? Or are the success percentages for items completely immutable?

Sequence crafting

Answer

Yes, you can spend experience points to increase the chances of success as show in this video:

You do this by pressing the arrow keys:

  • Increases the amount of experience used.

  • Decreases the amount of experience used.
