Is it possible to “import” a Saints Row 2 character into SR3?

Question

I realize I could answer this for myself by spending an hour or two with Image as Designed and the Initiation Station, but I'm hoping someone already has the answer.

While there isn't any way to directly import characters from Saints Row 2 into Saints Row: The Third, the character customization for both games is very similar. But are they similar enough? Would using the same values for each customization parameter produce the same face? Do they even have all the same parameters?

Answer

After spending some time in Image as Designed in SR2 and in the SR3 Initiation Station, it's clear that you cannot create the same character in both games by using the same values.

While both games share nearly all the same customization sliders, the values are relative, not absolute. This can be most easily seen by switching ethnicities within the same game. Even with the same skin tone and all sliders set to 50 (the default), characters will not look the same if they were created from different ethnicities because different "bases" underlie your customizations.

Similarly, SR2 and SR3 use different bases, even for the same ethnicities. While it might be possible to create the same face in both games, they won't have the same customization values, making it impossible to easily "port" characters.

Does Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood build on the saved game from Assassin's Creed II?

Question

Some games (like Mass Effect 2) build on the saved games from earlier versions by allowing the player to keep going with the choices they'd made earlier. Assassin's Creed isn't big on non-linearity, but my ACII character does have nice armor, weapons, and some cash.

Will AC: Brotherhood notice that saved game and pick up information from it or does Brotherhood always start from scratch?

Answer

No it will not.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood will always play exactly the same way regardless of whether you have an Assassins Creed II save game.

How do I synchronize my Facebook and Google+ Dragon Age Legends games?

Question

Is it possible to port my Dragon Age: Legends character from the Facebook version of the game to the Google+ version and keep them synchronized?

Answer

No. You can't port them or synchronize them. From the FAQ.

Can I import my Dragon Age Legends hero from Facebook to Google+?

No. The Facebook and Google+ versions of Dragon Age Legends are completely independent of each other. If you've already played the game on Facebook, you're able to create a brand-new hero on Google+. Try playing as another class for a very different DAL experience!

Will Torchlight II allow importing characters from Torchlight I?

Question

Torchlight II is coming.. so far I could not find any information if it will allow me to import my character from the first game.

Does anyone have better knowledge? I have a feeling that if they still didn't say so, it won't allow such a thing, but hope to be wrong.

Answer

Since Torchlight II will have completely new character classes, and none of the ones from Torchlight I will have a comingback, you will not be able to use old characters.

It is also stated in Torchlight II FAQ in Runic Games official Forum:

Will I be able to import my old characters?
No, the original characters will be in the game as NPCs, as will other NPCs of the Destroyer, Vanquisher, and Alchemist class types. Additionally, due to various changes in gamplay systems the old character files will not be able to be imported as-is, as detailed below:

Along with the story the game will use a new wardrobing system opposed to the one in Torchlight. As a result they did not reuse the Torchlight character assets.

What are the benefits of importing your old character in Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 2?

Question

In Episode 2 of the Penny Arcade Adventures XBLA/PSN game, you have the option of either making a new character or importing your old character (by accessing your end-of-game save data from Episode 1). Is there any benefit to doing so, aside from a greater sense of continuity? Do acquisitions from the first episode carry over into the second, or what?

Answer

From my (admittedly hazy) recollection of PAAOtRS, you keep your characters levels, the look of your customized character and, assuming you unlocked him in the first game, the support character Div.

A cursory googling seems to confirm this.

Does anything transfer from Fable 2 to Fable 3?

Question

I know a lot of games have been doing this recently (Mass Effect), but does Fable 3 have any such features? Just wondering if I should boot Fable 2 up and finish some things before playing Fable 3.

Answer

Peter Molyneux has said that the only change you'll notice is the things other people say to you. Nothing major.

A complete description of the relationship can be found on the lionhead forums.
