How do I save Clementine in the Drug Store myself?

Question

I am in the drug store and Clementine is attacked by a Walker. I stumble down, and try to reach her, yet I am not fast enough and she is saved by someone else instead. Afterwards, there is a notice that Clementine will remember I did not save her. This makes me think it is possible to save her myself.

So, is it possible to save her by myself? And if so, how am I supposed to save Clementine myself?

Asked by k0pernikus

Answer

Yes, you can save her by yourself. You can't not fall down on the ground, but after you fall, if you can quickly select her while you're in a daze you can save her yourself so that she remembers it. You can watch the video walk through below (starts at about 5:36 in).

Dragon Age:Origins Lothering Bandits on the Road Quest

Question

When i got to Lothering and attacked the bandits in the quest "Bandits on the Road" one of the options was "Come fight for me, I could use some soldiers" however this is not mentioned on the wiki.

What do you gain from this option, as appose to killing them or letting them go?

Asked by Gareth Jones

Answer

If it is not mentioned in the wiki, my guess is that the bandits refuse to have anything to do with you in that regard. Having the dialog option does not mean that it will be accepted, even if it is not a persuasion or intimidation check. I haven't tried that option myself, but my guess would be that is declined and that you're left with two options - letting them go or killing them.

How long does the Final Fantasy XI main story take to complete?

Question

I'm looking for relative values here. For example, if it takes a person about 40 hours to complete the STORY ONLY for the average Final Fantasy, then how long, in comparison, would the Final Fantasy XI story take?

In other words, how much longer is the FFXI storyline completion than other Final Fantasy storylines?

This does not include expansion packs or downloadable content.

Asked by Keaanu

Answer

The answer is it depends. If you have max-leveled well-geared friends to power level and run you through all the missions then I'd say it could probably be done in about 100-200 hours if everyone knows exactly what to do. I don't believe there's level requirements for the missions (Need to get at least level 20 to do the chocobo quest unless everyone's willing to keep you alive while you walk the whole way)

Also note that I'm taking a very conservative definition of "main story" to mean finishing your nation's mission chain, which only accounts for really about 5-10% of the story if we take not including expansions literally. With the expansions you're now talking about maybe 3-5% of the game's story. If that was all you did you would be missing out on tons of stuff.

Realistically speaking unless you have some really dedicated friends this is all theoretical because it's really hard to get a group of people together to run some low level person through the game.

Doing it normally with just people in your level range, I would expect no less than 1000 hours.

Additionally it's not really realistic to say not including expansions because I don't think you can even purchase a copy without them. Last I checked (quit the game about 2 years ago) every time they release a new expansion they bundle up all the previous expansions together and sell it for the price of the original game.

I played for 5+ years with close to 1 year of gametime and I still never finished all the main nation missions because finding people with time to help with old content is somewhat difficult. For the later missions you'd probably want to allocate at least a 3-5 hour block per mission where everyone's ready to go. Literally estimating time to do something in FF11 is like estimating software development. Take your best guess, and double it.

Some things might be easier now than when I played though, and with the new level caps you might only need 2-3 max level friends with a lot of free time instead of 5+ but overall, it's not really a question that has a direct answer.

Can anyone explain the Zaeed cutscene in Mass Effect 3?

Question

I did not make Zaeed loyal in ME2. I played through the Volus Ambassador mission, but have no idea what happened. One minute I am talking to the Volus ambassador on some kind of Plantronics earpiece, then I hear weird shooting noises, then you walk in and Zaeed is bleeding all over the place. Huh? What happened? Did the Volus shoot him? How? Why? What?

Asked by Craig Wright

Answer

Shepard's presence on the Volus ambassador's commline convinced Zaeed that it was better to protect him - at least until Shepard can get a chance to speak with the Volus.

Unfortunately, Zaeed's partners want to stick to their original plan of killing the ambassador. Zaeed refuses to let them kill the ambassador, and they wind up getting in a gunfight over the volus, and ultimately wind up killing each other. If your Zaeed is loyal, he'll survive this extrication (as always), otherwise, he gives his life saving the ambassador.

Where is the key to get out of the Catacombs in Hatred Symbolized?

Question

I think this may actually be a bug in my game but I want to make sure that I'm not missing something.

I have finished the Hatred Symbolized quest in Chapter 2 of The Witcher 2 following Roche's path. I am in the Catacombs where I meet Saskia and Zoltan. Saskia gives me the sword I need to complete the quest. There is a locked door behind them that I should be able to access at this point.

I looted the corpse in the main room and received a catacomb key. I have tried the door after acquiring this key and it still says it's locked. Should this key unlock that door or is there another key that I missed along the way? If so, what is the catacomb key actually for?

Asked by spugsley

Answer

I'm fairly late on this question but in case someone wanders.

So this is the path to the Saskia and Zoltan, what you have to do is just go back the same way.

Door behind them is used for Vergen Besieged

And acquired key is for the door marked with 7,really not shure why there is a door protecting few monsters.

Other marks:

  • 1 Pontar Valley
  • 2 Bullvore
  • 3 Zoltan and Saskia – connected with Hatred Symbolized.
  • 4 Adam Pangratt and the mercenaries – connected with Vergen Besieged.
  • 5 Dethmold and Adam Pangratt – connected with Vergen Besieged.
  • 6 Vergen exit – accessible only during Vergen Besieged.
  • ! Nekkers, Rotfiends

Where do I go to investigate the Hanar Diplomat?

Question

I'm currently investigating the possibility that one of the Hanar diplomats on the Citadel is indoctrinated. I scanned a terminal in the Embassies area, but all that turned up was a Hanar making large payments to its Mistress. I got a quest update to check its emails -- but I've looked all over, and I can't find it in the area.

Where do I go to read the Hanar's emails?

Asked by Raven Dreamer

Answer

There is a terminal on the Docks: Refugee level that you need to access.

WoW - Is there any way to find out any quest is available in the surrounding area

Question

Yesterday I was walking with the world map open and I almost missed a quest giver. Now I am afraid I may have missed others, as I was doing the same thing most of my time in the Lakeshire Mountains.

I also took a different path to the target location, where I discovered another quest giver. I was wondering if there is any feature to find quests available within some range of your current location?

I know I can always find them by watching for the exclamation point in the minimap, and yet I was about to miss couple quests if I hadn't watched it.

Asked by GeoStrike

Answer

The best thing to do is when you start up, is to complete all the quests that the quest giver gave you. Doing so will usually ,after you completed most of the quests from him, make him give you a quest to go to another area with quest givers.

Also, it is a good idea to do all the quests from a quest giver as the quest rewards increase as you complete the quest chain.

Other than this follow the next quest giver thing, you can't pretty much do anything else but google the area you're in and see what quest givers are in there for A/H.

And other than that, the only thing left to do is to use a quest giver add-on(which should be the answer you were looking for). These are great as they show on your minimap AND map all the quest givers. You might find one similar to what I linked you to which you might find useful.

Also, maybe some quest givers won't be shown on map as you don't meet the level requirements for that quest. So if you pass by an NPC at lvl 10 he won't have any quests for you, but if you go again at lvl 15 he might have. Just a thing to keep in mind.

Ok, so I hope this helps.

Where can I find the GX12 Thermal Pipe

Question

So this GX12 Thermal Pipe will supposedly make the Normandy safer under extreme combat conditions or something. I'm all for my ship being safer. I feel like I've scoured the Citadel up and down, but no dice. Where should I be looking? Do I have to complete one of the many "fetch quests" first for it to be available?

Asked by aslum

Answer

You'll find it at the Elkoss Combined Arsenal Store, located in the Presidium commons, and immediately to your left after leaving the elevator.

It's name in the store is actually the "E-Gel Thermal Conduit".

You can also buy it from the Normandy's shuttle bay with the requisition console under Elkoss Combined Arsenal (with a 10% markup).

What is the “special service” at the Blooming Rose?

Question

There are rumors that the mistress of the Blooming Rose (in Hightown of Kirkwall) will provide a "special service" for regular customers. Is this a quest line? Am I missing out on story content or is it just flavor text from a loading screen?

I haven't bothered to spend time in there unless there's a mission forcing me in the door (my male Hawke is smitten with Isabella and my FemHawke thinks the whole place is stupid).

Asked by Axiom

Answer

In addition to being a bar and an inn, the Blooming Rose happens to be a brothel: if you choose the correct dialog options when talking to the Mistress, you can choose amongst several of her... companions to spend some time with.

Furthermore, if you choose to get the "Royal Treatment",

one possible companion you'll be treated to is a male elf in drag.

Beyond that, you'll sometimes get an option to ask for something exotic or special:

This option is a switcheroo: for example, as a female Hawke, you can ask for something "for girls who have been bad." You'll be treated to a lecture by a Chantry priest.

Whatever you choose, it doesn't affect any quests: it's just there for flavor.

Where's Irune and the book of Plenix?

Question

I need to get the Book of Plenix from Irune, but I'm not even sure if that's a person in the Citadel or a planet in the galaxy.

Where do I find Irune?

Asked by Bruce Connor

Answer

Irune is a planet in the Aethon Cluster.

This system doesn't appear until you've advanced to a certain point in the main story (I believe after Tuchanka). Once you're able to travel there, you want to head to the Aru system (default from the relay). There you will be able to scan Irune to recover the book after pinging the planet.

Can I betray Molag?

Question

I got the Molag Bal quest in Skyrim, where he wants me to lead the priest to his altar and then kill the priest. When starting this quest I felt certain that there must be, at some point, an option presented to betray Molag and side with the priest instead. He's the god of betrayal/treachery after all, isn't he? So it seems fitting that there would be an option to betray him.

But it seems like no such option is ever presented. Is it possible to side against Molag, and if so, how? And if not, then isn't this quest pretty much broken? I mean, what's the option for playing a "reasonably decent" character if there's no way to refuse the god of evil and betrayal once he has you in his web?

Asked by aroth

Answer

I shared your idealism for a while in the game but soon found out the game is just not perfect and even though it goes really deep into details and give the character lots of freedom, it does have its limits.

Quests have fixed rules - the only way that exists (in most quests) to break out of the "chains" posed by these rules is to kill some key character - as also mentioned in this answer the key character in your case is the poor priest himself. This cause the quest to fail instantly however you won't get any further feedback about that - the game simply didn't go as far as that.

One more example demonstrating the game limits is that when you go without any cloth or armor near people they will occasionally say something along the lines "Get dressed!" but that's all - they will never actually do anything about that and you won't get arrested. It's all bells and whistles. :)

Question

It tells me whenever I select a new character how many "Class Quests" I've done. Those appear to be different from normal quests, as I know I'm done many as an Archer, and it says I've done "0 of 5" class quests.

I don't see it explain what those are anywhere. What are those quests?

Answer

In the Tooltip of your Character, it tells you what your current Classquest is, e.g. while logging in.

See this screenshot:

It is meant as some sort of progress through the game and you can also get an achievement on Steam for doing a lot of them.

What happens if you side with Zelazny?

Question

I decided to approve of Zelazny and tell the truth to the doctor. I got the praxis but I'm wondering if there are side effects to this choice in the game.

Any ideas?

Asked by Dan Howard

Answer

No, you'll never encounter Zelanzy or his mercs again in the game.

It also doesn't matter if you convince or lie to the doctor afterwards - you get the Praxis kit regardless.

The only difference in the various outcomes is how much experience you gain (you get the most for taking his team down, since you get XP for each takedown), and the fact that allowing Zelanzy to continue will cause the Belltower patrols in Hengsha to lessen slightly.

Is there a “Nirnroot” quest?

Question

Now that the game is released, this is a follow-up question to this question.

I wandered around and have found a lot of Nirnroots (they're pretty hard to miss) and they also don't seem to respawn. However, I haven't yet discovered a quest related to them like there was in Oblivion.

Do I have to talk to a specific NPC, read a book, or do something else in order to start the quest? Or is there simply none in this game?

Asked by heishe

Answer

There is indeed a Nirnroot quest:

When in Blackreach (the underground city), you'll find a quest called "A Return to Your Roots" which will task you with finding out the significance of the crimson nirnroot as well as send you on a collection quest to get a bunch of them.

Additionally, Ingun Black-Briar in Riften asks for 20 of them as part of a miscellaneous objective.

Outside of these two quests, nirnroots are used in alchemy to craft invisibility potions.

Who's telling the truth? Saadia or Kematu?

Question

In the quest: "In my Time of Need"

Saadia claims:

  • "I am a noble of House Suda in Hammerfell."
  • "The Alik'r are assassins in the employ of the Aldmeri Dominion."

Kematu claims:

  • Saadia is known for constantly changing her name.
  • Saadia is wanted by the noble houses of Taneth for treason.
  • "She sold the city out to the Aldmeri Dominion. Were it not for her betrayal, Taneth could have held its ground in the war."

Who's telling the truth? How is it possible to confirm their claims?

Asked by Renan

Answer

The purpose of this quest I think is to make you question which is the right option to take.

It is intentionally unclear.

My logic was this:

  • The Alik'r were shunned by Whiterun, that's saying something. Perhaps they have a bad reputation for being dirty mercenaries.
  • It is more likely that an individual spoke out against an organization rather than one individual causing the fall of Taneth.
    • The Aldmeri have always been able to win fights without the assistance of individuals, especially noble women, who may or may not have access to military secrets.
  • If she had caused the downfall of Taneth, why would she hide outside of Aldmeri territory? She could be easily protected elsewhere.

I did see this though:

If you accept Kematu's request and help him capture Saadia, you may encounter a group of Thalmor Justiciars in the wild that carry a Justiciar Execution Order with your race and name. This may indicate that Kematu wasn't telling the truth and that Saadia truly wasn't a traitor (source needed, Justiciar Execution Orders are normally issued because of the assault on the Thalmor Embassy in the main questline).

Where is the claw for the 'Speaking with Silence' quest?

Question

I'm an currently in Snow Veil Sanctum and I'm having trouble finishing the Speaking with Silence quest. During this quest I'm supposed to lead Mercer Frey into Snow Veil Sanctum to kill Karliah, a former Thieves Guild initiate. I've already made my way to the end of the ruins where I battle a multitude of Draugs and learn the 'weapon, disarm' word. Unfortunately, I still can't get to Karliah because she's behind a door that requires a claw to open. I've killed everything up to this point and nothing has dropped a claw. Where am I supposed to get this thing? Is it in the ruins somewhere?

Asked by spugsley

Answer

Mercer is supposed to open it for you. You may have to push him to the door to get him to unlock it.

Seems to be a common problem.

What are the benefits of doing the radiant quests from the thieves guild?

Question

I have done several dozens of the radiant quests from Vex and Delvin and earned a lot of money doing this. Beside the coin, does it make sense to do those quests?

In the beginning I thought that doing them will enable the special quests to retake certain cities, but after I while it felt more like those special quests become available as I level up.

How do those radiant quests really work? Do the influence other plot lines or are they just cheap fillers to get some money?

Asked by Demento

Answer

The special quest for a particular city is unlocked after you've done 5 radiant quests in that city. When you complete a special job in the city, you get one (or more) of these benefits:

  1. Increase the amount of money available to all fences in the game.
  2. Some of those quests add an additional thieves guild fence to that area.
  3. Add another merchant (not a fence) to the Ragged Flagon (guaranteed).

Also, you will need to complete all these special quests before you are given the chance to become the guild master, which has its own set of benefits.

I infiltrated a cult, but now I think I want to join them. Should I?

Question

Minor spoilers for a quest on Dromund Kaas... So I was hired to join the Revanites and unmask their leader. I finally met the leader and she knows why I joined and has proposed I lie to the guy who hired me. Can anyone tell me what happens if I betray the cult? Betray my original employer?

Answer

There's really no difference other than the alignment points, and possibly companion affection.

Either way, you'll gain the 'Revanite' title, the same XP and item rewards, and after a little while, a letter with some credits from whoever you sided with.

There's no lasting impact, though this isn't the last of Revan's legacy with which you'll interact.
