What are the 'Strange Relics' in the Uncharted series?

Question

There is a trophy in each of the Uncharted games called 'Relic Finder'. To earn it you have to locate the 'Strange Relic'. I don't think these relics are mentioned in the stories at all, and I have found the one in #2 and it just shows up like a normal treasure you find. I haven't noticed anything that it changes yet.

So, what is the significance of the "Strange Relics" in each game? and why are they different from the other treasures you collect?

In answers please use spoiler tags if the answer relates to the story.

Asked by David

Answer

The company that makes the game, Naughty Dog, is the creator of another beloved PS2 franchise, Jak and Daxter. The "strange relic" is an egg that was a collectable in the Jak and Daxter games. Its inclusion in the Uncharted series is simply the developer providing a literal "easter egg" referencing their past work.

Additionally, they included the strange relic again in Uncharted 3

Where are the Joker Balloons in Amusement Row?

Question

I've been up and down Amusement Row in Batman: Arkham City and I have only found 3 or so Joker Balloons. Do I need to progress further in the story for them to spawn or are they just waiting inside a building?

I'm tracing the Joker's radio signal to the steel mill.

Answer

I've confirmed that more will spawn later in the game.

Specifically, more spawned after I emerged from the ruins of Old Gotham after the encounter with Rāʾs al Ghūl.

What things are missable in disc 1 of Final Fantasy 7?

Question

We all know that a certain event happens at the end of disc 1 - but what things should I do before that event that won't be available after?

I can think of the following so far:

  • all her limit breaks
  • all her weapons
  • maybe max stats(?)

Answer

I don't think there's much more you can do for her once you have her ultimate weapon and final limit break.

As for other missable items/materia, there's a guide on GameFAQs that details them.

In Final Fantasy VII, what were the 1/35 Soldier items for?

Question

In Final Fantasy VII, you could collect items called 1/35 Soldier, but they never seemed to have any use.

This has bugged me for years. Are these items used for anything at all in the game?

Answer

There is no use for the 1/35 Soldiers in FF7. But if you purchase the vacation home in Costa Del Sol, the soldiers will be up on display there.

Oh and if anyone cares, there are 12 in the set.

And for more info on items in ff7 http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Final_Fantasy_VII_Items is a great reference.

Any reason *not* to trade Fallen Legion Artifacts to Vulgrim?

Question

I've been playing Darksiders. In the course of beating the souls out of dumpsters, traffic cones, and sign posts, I discovered a Fallen Legion Artifact.

The game helpfully popped up "Ooh, take this to Vulgrim and be rewarded!" So I did, and on Vulgrim's interface there was a new "press R to trade artifacts". I did so... and nothing seemed to happen.

The button disappeared, so I think I did trade something, I'm just not sure what I did. What does trading artifacts to Vulgrim do, and is there any reason not to?

Answer

So, the only purpose the Fallen Legion Artifacts exist (outside of achievements) is to be traded for souls.

There are a limited number and I do know some people don't trade them in to keep track of how many they still have to pick up, but having 1000/1000 the game myself, I can tell you its not a necessity.

For reference

Fallen Legion Soldier Artifact: 500 souls (there are 20)
Fallen Legion Champion Artifact: 1000 souls (there are 8)
Fallen Legion Overlord Artifact: 5000 souls (plus a wrath core, there is 1)
