What's the purpose of the Golem at the Cliffside Airdock in Bryyo?

In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, if you land on Bryyo at the Cliffside Airdock, there's a large room with grapple hooks along the top, and a disabled Mogenar War Golem. I think the room is called the "Grand Court"? I got the X-Ray visor and managed to restore power to the Golem which stood up to reveal a pool of Phazon. But that was all! Am I missing something? I've been longing to activate this Golem since I first found it early in the game, expecting some amazing prize. Where's my energy tank, damnit?!? :-)

Have you destroyed the Leviathan Seed on Bryyo yet? According to this the only item in the room is a Red Phazoid (which only begin to appear after you've destroyed the appropriate Seed) and it's associated gold credit.

Can I charge the seeker missile without wasting a missile in Metroid Prime 3?

In order to lock on to targets with the seeker missile in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, I have to press and hold the down button on the D-Pad. However doing so fires a single missile, which is wasted. With only ~100 missiles this can be a big waste! Is theer a way to charge up the seeker missiles and lock on to targets without wasting this first missile?

Answer

If you fire a regular beam charge shot and then immediately hold down the missile button, you should be able to start charging the seeker missile without having to "waste" a shot.

The key is to begin holding down the missile button during the "cooldown" period of the charge shot animation (when you are unable to fire anything, beam or missile).
