Diablo 3 Secret cow level in a party

Question

I wanted to know, if everybody in my group can access the cow level in Diablo 3, when only I have the staff of herding? Or does everybody need to have this staff?

regards Thaz

Asked by Thaz

Answer

The staff is only required to open the way to Whimsyshire. After it is accessible, anyone in the game can enter.

An undiscovered Minecraft recipe? Can it be?

Question

I've been reading the Minefold blog and therein found the following:

During a fireside interview at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco last weeek, Minecraft creator Notch dropped an extremely big surprise on the Minecraft community.

There is still one hidden recipe that has yet to be found.

It’s hard to believe with all the modding and customization that has been a core feature of the hit indie title hasn’t revealed this mysterious unknown crafting recipe.

Asked by fbrereto

Answer

The secret wasn't a recipe:

Here is Notch talking about it on reddit:

We've tried adding secrets to the game before. Small things, like obscure crafting recipes or weird behavior, and everything always gets figured out immediately. No matter how obscure we make a new feature, it's fully documented within hours of a new release. This is awesome, and a great example of how dedicated some Minecraft players are, but it also means we can't really hide anything good in the game even if we tried. So a while ago, I did some intentionally obscure code in the title screen to switch two letters around, making it say "Minceraft" (old running gag, there's even a "minceraft" mockup t shirt design we did) instead of "Minecraft" on every 10000th game launch or so, and nobody found it! I was so happy about that, I finally knew something about the game the players didn't know.

Flash forward to this GDC a few days ago, I'm doing an interview with Chris Hecker, and he asks me if there's anything nobody has found in the game, and I say yes. I should've said no, but I said yes. Then I start getting emails and tweets about it, people start getting excited, and knowing how minor the secret is, I try to tell people it's a very minor secret. That seems to fuel the flames. A reporter from a well known gaming site wants to run an article on it, and I tell him not to. Getting people hyped up about an intentional typo isn't really a good way to spend everyone's time. There's a lot of cool stuff to learn from this, though. One is that it IS possible to hide stuff in plain sight, but once people go looking for it, they will find it. Another thing is that people seem to want to get excited over things, even if you tell them it's nothing major.

I'm impressed and relieved you found it. I won't comment on it outside of this subreddit.

Do I need to fly along this spiked tunnel to get the secret exit?

Question

So, while solving level 4-1, I passed the following sign.

enter image description here

Having flown below the secret I can see red "exit" blocks up there, which I know from previous levels will unlock a second path in the main world.

I can't get up that passage, so either I've missed something, or the dev's are lying to me.

Which is it, and how do I get the secret exit that's mentioned here?

Answer

Yes you do need to go through that tunnel to get the secret.

The key to getting it, is starting the level, and then tapping UPARROW once, and then leaving the game to do it's own thing.

Where are the subtanks located in Megaman ZX?

Question

I'm currently stuck in Megaman ZX with a bit of a dilemma. I have already reached the final area of the game, but I only have one subtank (the one from the Power Plant), which is proving to be very little in the midst of 10 almost consecutive boss battles. All my exploring has only uncovered data disk after data disk and no subtanks. Where can I find them?

Answer

Subtank locations can be found in section mi01 of this guide:

Subtank I, Area E-4: Below the spinning gears and to the right.

Subtank II, Area A-2: Above the tunnel with razor blade enemies, and to the left.

Subtank III, Area K-1: After the first mini boss, fall down and head to the right. Use Biometal Model HX to go upwards until you find a computer terminal. Use the terminal and head back to Area K-4, and go right until the path splits. Use Model FX's charge attack to break the blocks on the upper path. Head through the hidden door to unlock area K-1, where the subtank is located.

Subtank IV, Area X-1: Complete the Find the Aid Kit sidequests.

Getting Mario-Mask Koopas in “Super Mario World”

Question

I’ve read about Koopas wearing Mario-masks in Super Mario World, and the pictures below look familiar (though I can’t recall if it’s because I got them in the game or saw them on the Internet).

I can’t find any direct information on how to get them other than “finishing the special world” or “completing 100% of the game”.

Does anyone know exactly what is required of the player to get the masked Koopas and when/where they show up?

enter image description here enter image description here

Answer

There is a secret warp in the Star Road. Upon entering it, you will end up in the Special World. If you complete all 8 of the Special World levels, a new Star Road appears with a warp that leads back to Yoshi's House. If you enter it, some drastic changes occur in Dinosaur Land:

  • World backgrounds change (to a Fall-like instead of a Spring-like colour scheme).
  • Koopas transform into Mask Koopas.
  • Piranha Plants will change into Pumpkin Plants.
  • Jumping Piranha Plants will turn into Jumping Pumpkin Plants.
  • Bullet Bills are replaced with Pidgits.
  • Goombas turn into a yellowish color and have sunglasses. (GBA version only)
  • Pokeys turn into sawblade-like creatures. (GBA version only)

These changes occur in the entire world, and are permanent.

What is the use or the significance of the ornamental gold cross in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia?

Question

There is an ornamental gold cross in the church at the end of Oblivion Ridge with a directional-pad shape in the center and two arrows on either side on the horizontal bars. Are you supposed to do something near it to activate it?

Answer

As far as I know, the only thing to do is to destroy the lower portion of the wall, as it conceals a hermit ring.

Here's a youtube video of someone breaking the wall:

Edit: Hm. stack exchange's auto imbed feature killed the timestamp. Try this link to jump right to the bit in question.
