MAG: Resetting character, what about medals?

Question

After gaining final level I will be able to reset my character to start working for new PMC. Will this make me also loose my statistics, medals and ribbons?

Answer

You will keep all your medals, ribbons and statistics. You will also keep all your money and the re-sale cost of any weapons/equipment you own. Obviously, you will restart at level 1 so you will not keep your skill points. You also get a nice XP bonus every game.

How do you get MVP in MAG?

Question

I have clocked up over 140 hours in MAG and rarely get less than a 3-1 kill/death ratio. Despite this, I have only ever got third Most Valuable Player on one occasion. Can someone give me some pointers on how to top the MVP.

Answer

MVP is awarded to the player with the most experience (before the bonus XP that is rewarded at the end) in the game. Some ways to boost your XP include:

  • Reviving your teammates often (+10 per revive)
  • Become a veteran (+10% XP per game)
  • Deploy through directives (+10% XP per game)
  • Destroy vehicles
  • Stay in FRAGO areas as often as possible
  • Blow up items that are fragged
  • Repair when you can
  • Be the SL/PL
  • And of course, netting kills

As SVER in MAG, which weapon will give me the best bang for my buck early on?

Question

I have only about 2000 points to spend on weapons at the moment. I hear the Vipera is pretty good but I'm wondering if I should buy it or save for something better. I am speced to use Assault rifles at the moment but am willing to respec if the weapon is worth it.

Answer

Ignore the vipera; get the shotgun. Put points in as a medic and get in close to the action where the shotgun reigns supreme. XP up until you can afford the AK or AG. As Bjorn stated, the vipera is a good stealth weapon but you don't have the money for the sensors and suppressors at low level so direct action is a better tactic for the early game.
