At least ten years ago i played a game with (or against) my friend, and we would love to play it again for fun, but have no clue what name to google for...
The top player would play tetris and some blocks had special abilities like bomb or baloon, and at the same time the second player would play blockbreaker and also try remove the blocks. We both used same keyboard at same time!
This was a windows game or DOS (most likely freeware or shareware) and had very funny russian person pronounce when one player won:
arrrrkalicks is wiiiner
(winner pronounced more like wiener sausage than winner). Most likely spelled totally different, over the years we kept saying that phrase to each other to laugh at it, this is why we want to replay the game. I know chances are not good, but if anyone know about this game it would be great!
Maybe Biprolex?

Note that I'm not looking for recommendations. Just trying to find a list of games that I can play simultaneously (i.e., not turn-based) with someone who is actually in my home.
Not know what genre exactly you're looking for, but from what I've played personally...
I know at least the following LEGO games: Indiana Jones, Harry Potter offer split-screen. I would imagine the others do as well (Star Wars, Batman).
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare the original offered it, I never tried it in MW2.
You can find a full listing by searching for split screen games here: http://www.xboxmp.com

I've been looking around the internet but I can't seem to find this info. The official website lists that this game will have a 4-player co-op mode. Still, for me would me more important to know whether there will be an offline 4-player multiplayer vs mode.
Hopefully someone can help me with this, thanks in advance!
According to Co-optimus, the co-op mode will not be playable offline on either system. I think it's safe to assume that the same would be true for other multiplayer game modes (although I haven't found any info that there would even be a vs mode)

I recently bought a brand new xbox 360 slim and have transferred all of my data to it. It also has an xbox live account that gets played quite frenquently. My old xbox is still operable and in fact gets used by my brothers. We both have copies of Call of Duty World at War and would like to system link to play zombies with 4 people. However when we system link via direct ethernet connection or via router connection, the the joining xbox never sees the games being hosted by the host xbox.
I have tried changing which xbox is the host. I have swapped out ethernet cables to see if any are bad. I have tried several different routers to see if that changes the connection.
The weird part is whenever we system link with Halo Reach we have no problems connecting and playing together. The only thing I can think of is that the newer xbox has been updated via xbox live and is not compatible with the version of WAW or the old xbox.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?
Chances are good this has to do with the version of CoD: WAW you're both running - since you can link up to play Halo: Reach, it's not an issue with hardware or networking. This is especially likely if you connect regularly to XBox Live on the newer XBox 360, but the older XBox 360 has not connected in a while.
Your options at this point are to clear all the software updates off both Xboxes (not recommended - you have to clear everything), or to get the older XBox to update to the newest version.
The second option is likely less inconvenient. If you go with it, you can either connect that older XBox to XBox Live using a different Gamertag (either Gold or Silver should work), or go through the following steps (using a single Gamertag):
Given the time investment it's probably easier to use a Silver Gamertag - it's free, and signing up from scratch (assuming you don't have one already) is probably less time-consuming that two Gamertag Recoveries.

The kids have got into Minecraft and want to run their own multiplayer game locally, however, we can't get one computer to connect to the other, but the reverse connection works.
COMPUTER A is the better machine and we want to run the server on that as well as a client. COMPUTER B can only really run either the server or the client. It's good enough to run TF2 etc. so it's not underpowered.
What works:
Run the server on COMPUTER B. We can run the client on COMPUTER A and connect to the server without any problems. We can also run the client on COMPUTER B and connect to the server, but it's unplayable.
What doesn't work:
Run the server on COMPUTER A. Running the client on COMPUTER A works and gives a decent frame rate etc. However, from COMPUTER B when we try to connect it appears to work, but then 30 seconds later it times out. The server reports that the connection has been made and then lost.
We have Sygate personal firewall on COMPUTER A which has a 1GB network card. This computer is also running IPv6.
We have Comodo firewall pro on COMPUTER B which has a 100MB network card. This computer is still running IPv4.
The two are connected via a 1GB switch.
Both firewalls have rules set up to allow all local traffic of any protocol on any port through. We haven't tried turning the firewalls off (that's for this afternoon), but I thought I'd see if there was anything else I could try.
UPDATE
The messages in the server are:
[INFO] User [/192.168.2.6:3222] logged in
then 30 seconds or so later:
[INFO] User lost connection: End of stream
We've just tried with firewalls on both computers disabled and got the following:
[INFO] Disconnecting /192.168.2.6:3172: Took too long to log in
Still at complete loss, but it does appear to indicate that it's a network connectivity issue.
UPDATE 2
I should have added that we're running XP SP3 on both machines. COMPUTER A is new hardware and (obviously) a new installation of all drivers and software. COMPUTER B is old hardware (hence the problem) but has recently been reformatted/reinstalled.
UPDATE 3
Just tried again with server version 0.2.4 and the latest client and we get the following message on the server log:
[WARNING] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?
This is with nothing else running on this machine and no one connected. I would have thought an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz with 2 Gb of RAM and Physical Address Extension should be able to run the server software OK.
On Service Pack 3, there seems to be a lot of problems you apparently can't get around.

Problem:
You're running Windows XP Service Pack 3.
Solution:
Run Minecraft on a Virtual Machine on your computer,
or use one with a different OS. Sorry!

I have noticed that quite a few of the games I play allow me to have a second player split-screen online with me by signing in as a guest. I always do it by starting up the game and then through that sign my friend in as a guest, but isn't there a way to sign in as a guest on a second controller without launching a game first? I'm asking this because some games allow you to splitscreen with a guest account but they don't offer you the opportunity to sign in as a guest so you have to launch a second game that does first.
There's no way to sign in as a guest from the Xbox 360 Dashboard because signing in as a guest doesn't have any meaning until you're trying to play online. The purpose of signing in as a guest is to utilize the online features of a game without having to pay for Live Gold yourself. Instead, you piggyback on another gamertag's subscription.
Microsoft describes it this way:
Gold Membership account holders can create temporary guest accounts for the purpose of game play.
The major features of the Xbox Live dashboard (themes, achievement progress, avatars, etc) are available to any profile, regardless of Live status, so signing in as a guest doesn't really apply.
If you can't seem to sign in as a guest, it may be because you're signed into a profile on the second (or third/fourth) controller already. Sign out of the non-Xbox Live Gold profile and try again.

I'm willing to play from my XBox with a friend of mine on some game that allow local (split-screen) + online co-op. I only have one headphone set, though. Is it possibile to have the audio incoming from online partners routed to the TV set while still having a headphone attached to the controller so that we can speak?
Yes. In the settings (I can't recall where atm, unfortunately), there is an option to have voice chat go to your headset, to your TV along with game audio, or both. If you set it to go to your TV both players should be able to hear voice chat.
