How come I only get 1 tower bux?

Question

The Tiny Tower wiki VERY strongly suggests, in multiple places, that employing a bitizen in their dream job will net 2 tower bux. However I've only ever gotten one bux as far as I can tell. Is the wiki out of date? Am I only getting 1 bux because I'm playing the android version?

Asked by aslum

Answer

Watch your bux when you place them in their dream job. I play on the Thunderbolt which is an Android device and although the message says you've earned a towerbux! You acctually get two, I litterally just tested to verify.

This is most likely becasue the developers are swamped with work trying to get the Android version running smoooth and they missed that dialog box text change.

Note: If you are only getting one Bux then you should send a message to the developers with your device name, becasue they don't even know you're getting shafted.

4/26/12: The message is now displaying properly as of the latest patch.

How can I track my achievements?

Question

I just started playing Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots on Android and so far it seems that there is a billion achievements, since I've been unlocking them constantly. However, there's no link to Feint on the home screen (like in the original Fruit Ninja) and I don't see any other way to view (a) what achievements I've gotten or (b) what achievements I have yet to get. How can I track my achievements?

Asked by Matthew Read

Answer

It seems the answer is, there is no way to track your achievements, on Android. Various other users have made the comment that achievements can not be tracked in the current version, for Android. To quote a few:

Excellent, BUT...

I don't like that you can't view your achievements. What's the point of showing them, if you can't access the proper section for them? Excellent game, but please fix this.

Great

Awesome game and would get 5 stars if it had open feint to view acomplishments.... Its on the iphone version, why not here?

Can I play across platforms?

Question

I got Tiny Tower for Android thinking I'd be able to continue my tower I started in iOS. But I don't see any option and I don't think I have an online account linked to my tower.

Is there any way to play my tower cross-platform or can I not do that?

Asked by Ben Brocka

Answer

Unfortunately, the game does not run cross-platform.

On iOS, if you have a Game Center account, your game is tied to it, which is why you can get your Tiny Tower game on multiple iOS devices. Obviously, you do not have Game Center on an Android device, so you won't have access to your game.

How do I get past level 35 of Mr/Mrs. Block Free?

Question

I'm stuck in level 35 of Mr/Mrs Block Free. How can I solve it?

Asked by Thirler

Answer

Try this:

1. Move grey block on ground on the left hand side over one more to the left so it is sitting right in the corner.

2. Move red square in top left hand corner over one so it falls on top of the grey block and turn that red block to stone

3. Move the grey block that's on the ground underneath the stone you just turned to stone - move that to the right into the blue transmitter tunnel. When it arrives, immediately move it to the right hand corner on the ground. It should now be in the bottom-most right hand corner of your screen.

4. Move the grey block on the top left hand side (top left corner of screen) over one so it sits on top of the block you just turned to stone, and then move it into the pink transmitter tunnel. It will land right on top of the other grey block you have put there. Immediately move that upper grey block into the blue tunnel to its right.

5. That grey block will arrive in the middle of the screen in the right corner. move it to the left so it's next to the pink whirlwind dot, on the right hand side, so that it is in place for one of the red squares to fall on top of it. Move one of the red blocks there on top of this block, and immediately turn that block to stone. Use that same grey block that's there (underneath the one you just turned to stone) and move that to the left, drop it off the end of that layer and move it then to the right, into the pink transmission tunnel. It arrives on top of the yellow block on top right hand side of screen. Immediately move it over one move, so that it drops to the ground. Leave it there.

6. Move the yellow block to the left and move it over the grey block, into the blue transmitter tunnel.. It arrives in the middle of the screen, just to the right of the red block. Leave it there for now.

7. Go to the grey block in the top right corner of the screen, and move it through the transmitter tunnel to its right. It appears on the ledge just below the red and yellow blocks. Move that to the right, position it under the yellow square, and then move the yellow block into that square, and it turns to stone.

8. Move that grey block over one more time so it's right in the corner, underneath the red square.

9. Go to the bottom right hand corner of the screen, to that grey block, and move that left into the pink transmitter tunnel. It arrives in the middle of the screen - all you do is move it over to the right one move, so that it sits on top of the grey block, and then move the red block into place. Voila!

Do adventurers buy any equipment on their own in Dungeon Village?

Question

I've started playing "Dungeon Village" on Android, and the adventurers' behavior isn't completely clear to me. Do they buy any kind of equipment (weapons, armor, amulets) on their own, or do I have to give it to them as presents? Do they buy special items (such as Salve) on their own? And use them on their own? Or do I have to do all of it myself?

Asked by idan315

Answer

Adventurers will buy their own equipment, but it's pretty random. Once you start getting buildings with decent appeal and quality, they will, for the most part, ignore the Weapon/Armor/Accessory shops, as you can't upgrade those. Giving them as presents is usually the more reliable way to upgrade them. Plus, it build town popularity, and adventurer satisfaction and work. And I have yet to see them use salves on their own.

Fun fact: on the off chance an adventurer DOES use the shops after giving them decent equipment, what they buy is mostly random. They can and will DOWNGRADE their equipment. So once you get in the clear for cash, you're better off replacing those buildings with stat increasing buildings instead.

How to play a private match on android?

Question

I want to play with my friend and nobody else. If I make a public game, anyone can join. If I make a private match, however, according to any information I can find online, I have to "alt-tab to Steam, right-click on your friend, and invite to game". Which is great, except I'm on an Android phone. How do I play with my friend under this setup?

To clarify: I can host a game easily. I can join a game easily. But if I host a game that's of type Private Match, I'm alone in the game and can't figure out how to invite anyone else. A search for my username reveals no matches available for my friend to join. We're both on Android systems.

Asked by Yamikuronue

Answer

Well, it would seem that this functionality does not work. I can play with people who are not on Android, or I can play a public game, kick everyone else out, and lock it once my friend is in, but I cannot play a private match and then invite a friend like every other system can do. Anyone know how to file a bug report?

How up to date is the Android version of Tiny Tower, compared to the iOS version?

Question

Looking at friends (with Apple devices) screenshots of Tiny Towers, there are small differences between the iOS version and the my version - the most obvious being star icons to indicate dream job assignments.

Roughly how far behind is the Android version? How long ago did these stars start appearing in the iOS version? And what other features is the Android version lacking?

Asked by Simon Scarfe

Answer

If the version numbers match, the iOS version is version 1.5.1 and the Android version is 1.3.6.

Here are the things that have changed in the iOS version since 1.3.1:

What's new in Tiny Tower 1.5.1: · Fixed a bug in the way completed missions are saved.

What's new in Tiny Tower 1.5:

  • NEW MISSIONS! There are now missions for you to complete from the main menu! Complete them by collecting (via stocking) the required products from the floors in your tower.
  • GIFTING! You can now gift stock to friends through the floor focus menu (use the quick sell button)!
  • Added star graphics for each floor to show the number of dream jobbers employed there.
  • NEW FLOORS AND COSTUMES! ·
  • Reworked sound code.
  • Fixed other minor issues.

What's new in Tiny Tower 1.4.1:

  • Fixed crashing on older devices
  • Fixed occasional startup crash
  • Reset button now visible on settings screen

What's new in Tiny Tower 1.4:

  • New floors! New costumes!
  • Share your tower on the web from the main menu!
  • Added separate settings for sounds and music.
  • Fixed bug causing a crash when viewing certain neighbors.
  • Fixed a bug where Realtor VIP move-ins had the same dream job.
  • Fixed a bug causing floors to paint themselves.
  • Fixed a bug preventing shoes from changing color in dress up.
  • Increased allowed length of custom floor names.

This details what was in the Android update on January 31st:

Tiny Tower Update, new content and features added to Tiny Tower on January 31, 2012. Now you can do even more with your bitizens and tower!

So... What's new in Tiny Tower?

  • Costumes for your bitizens
  • The Bitbuilder
  • More floors added
  • Upgrading floors (adds 75 stock for each floor level upgrade), you will be able to level upgrade your floor at least 300 times.
  • Renaming floors
  • New elevator upgrade
  • Sharetower

As you can see, the Android app is quite a bit behind, as they have just added support for costumes, which the iOS app has had for a while. It also does not have the new mission system, and the star graphics (which you mentioned).

How can I unstick a game of Words With Friends?

Question

Near the end of a game of Words With Friends, the game seems to be stuck in a mode where neither player can make a move. On the main screen on both phones it indicates that it's my move, but when I go into the game board it shows my last move instead of my opponent's. The pass, recall, and swap buttons are all disabled, and I'm not allowed to resign because the game doesn't recognize that it's my move on this screen.

I've tried rebooting my phone to unstick the game (so did my opponent), and that didn't work. This is the free version of the game on Android if that helps. Has anyone else experienced this particular problem? If so, how do I get this game unstuck?

Answer

I've had this problem before too, never really looked into how to solve it, but now that I think about it.

Wiping the application data for words with friends (Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Words Free -> Clear Data), then starting the application again (requiring you to log in since you wiped the data) should refresh your game.

As I was typing the above I saw that there's a "clear cache" button below the "clear data" button. That might solve the issue too. Clearing the cache would empty what is there and force a refresh from the servers. If clearing the cache doesn't work, the the paragraph above should solve the problem.

Opening Android Grand Theft Auto 3 saved games with PC version

Question

I was over the moon when GTA3 came out for Android/iOS. However, I'd really like to be able to open my PC-based saved games on my Android version of GTA 3 and vice-versa. Is this possible?

I've already tried copying 2 *.b files from my Android device (Samsung Galaxy SII if that is relevant) and copying them to the GTA3 User Data folder on a PC install, but when I open the game and look at the list of available saved games, the dates are incorrect (year 5142 for instance). I've not yet tried this the other way around.

Answer

Unfortunately it's not possible.

Like you have mentioned in the comments, the way each of the games are saved has changed. Even if the saving system hadn't have changed I am highly confident it wouldn't of been possible since it's almost like taking a save file from a PS3 and trying to use it on a PC game. They are two completely different platforms.

Sorry!

Is it common to die at work?

Question

I downloaded The Sims 3 for my Android phone, and I've played through almost 2 Sim weeks with my character. My sim works Monday-Friday, and without fail, he will die every other day at work. If he survived work yesterday, he will die today. Period. He's been killed by everything from escaped research monkeys to choking on a pretzel.

Death isn't such a big deal. I just go back to the main screen, select my character, and I'm back. The biggest frustration is that I don't get paid on the days that I die, which means I'm only collecting about half of the Simoleons that I earn. This makes progress in the game very slow, to the point that I'm about ready to give up.

So my question is: can I do something to avoid dying at work, or is it random? If it's random, is it supposed to happen this often, or am I insanely unlucky?

Answer

The only thing I can find about this seems to indicate that it's a problem with your Sim running out (or, ew, overflowing) of something important stat-wise during the workday.

Apparently your Sim doesn't think to stop to eat lunch or go to the bathroom during the day, so you've got to make sure they eat a big breakfast and take a potty break in the morning hours, lest they collapse at work from an overeager bladder when you're not there to tell them to pee.

Try seeing if you can't get them through the day if they head off to work with all their "needs" properly met.

How do I unlock the remaining challenge levels in Peggle for Android?

Question

When I was looking at my Peggle stats on my Android phone, I saw that I'd completed 30 of 100 challenges ... but when I select Challenges from the main menu, I counted only 40 available. How do I unlock the remaining 60 challenge levels, if that's even possible?

Answer

According to an email I got from PopCap Customer Support, you are right - there are only 40 challenges (and 55 levels) available - the listing on the stats is an error that they are planning to fix in an update.

How do I clear all 45 waves in Big Time Gangster?

Question

Has anyone cleared all 45 waves in Big Time Gangster? I'm playing the game without buying any credits (I think that model is silly) so I can only purchase items that do not require credits.

I have come up with some fighting strategies that help my to clear the first 10 waves without too much effot or loss of health but I think beyond that I'll have to stock up on equipment like health kits.

What does it take to clear all 45 waves?

Answer

You need smove no matter what. I got lucky with credit lottos and my threesome is 500 hp, 450 hp, and 250 hp, to beat all 45 waves you have to be completely focused with at least 20 minutes of time on your hand. To beat all 45 waves I equipped the three characters I used with 100 medium health and 70 medium damage. I used one credit weapon because honestly, without at least one credit item or thing, you're screwed. On to the battle: mow down the first three at the start of the wave then as more and more start coming take them down one at a time alternating quickly between shooters firing at one target. This will kill him a lot faster. If your health starts getting low use a health pack and use damage increases whenever you can. Around wave 40 the enemies get lower health but increased damage. That isn't too hard if you can dispatch them quickly enough. Wave 45, no matter how good you are, unless you have 100% credit weapons and the three best characters in the game you will have at least one of your thugs gunned down. After this target the weakest enemies and hope for the best. I lost 8/11 times at the arena using this method, so don't expect it to work at first.

What's the best strategy for conquering counties in Pocket Empires?

Question

I love playing Pocket Empires on my Android phone and I'm trying to conquer some neighboring counties.

I usually send my speed bumps (1 Paladin, 1 Hussar, 1 Militia) and then all my ranged units. But I'm wondering what would be the best strategy for conquering counties.

  • Should I add other units like Trolls or Demons to soak more rounds of damage?
  • How many siege weapons do I need and are the Battering rams of any use?
  • How many Lizards or Black Widows should I send to do the bulk damage without loosing too many?

Any suggestions for a solid strategy are welcome!

alt text

Answer

Given that I have no empty counties in my neighborhood to test it on, I don't have the option to test it, but given my current experience with raiding/conquering Innumerable 10 Black Widows/Lizards, your best bet will be to calculate what you can handle.

This means you will have to spy the county to see what you're up against and then check whether your army would be capable of taking it down. This isn't as hard as it might sound and it's very easy to get so overpowered, that these numbers might not matter anymore.

But to start with this, we have to do some calculating (attribution goes to the Pocket Empires forum):

What you will need:

So, let’s continue our example of the Black Widows and Bowmen.

Our goal is to find out: how many of our units can kill how many monsters?

In other words, if I am sending X amount of bowmen, how many black widows can I kill without having to worry about the bowmen getting hurt?

To make a useable simple calculator, you need to find out two things. The two things you need to find out then:

  • How much attack each individual unit does (Attack per Unit);
  • The HP of the monster.

This will get you how many of your units can kill how many monsters.

Okay. So open up your first report. Lets say we have 500 bowmen. You will notice that underneath the writing "Round X", it will say something like Bowmen, move: 15, attack: 5000.

Attack per Unit

So first we find out how much attack each individual unit does. To break it down real simple: we have 500 units, they did 5000 attack.

So total attack is: 5000 attack You have: 500 units Each unit does: 5000/500 = 10 attack each unit.

1v1?

Now that we know how much attack each unit has, lets find out how many units it will take to kill a single monster.

Now, from the forum, we know that one black widow has 60 HP. So if each bowman does 10 attack, then it will take:

10 attack per bowman

60 HP per black widow

= 0.1667 (this means that each bowman kills 0.1667 black widows)

Now you have a simple formula which calculates how many black widows your bowmen can kill! So if you have 12345 bowmen, you can kill:

12345 units * 0.1667 (this is the 1vs1 value)= 2057.9 black widows!

BUT this is only 2057.9 per round!

We have to calculate how many rounds you have before your main units (in this case bowmen) get hit!

Factor in rounds

I presume you understand the theory of positional warfare (aka speed bumps, kiting, etc).

Your battle report will be handy here. You can see how many rounds you have before the monsters start attacking your main unit. It’s usually around 3-6 depending on the speed of the monster, the range of your unit, and which mix of units you send to act as speed bumps.

But a strange thing starts happening when the monsters get too close to your units! Your units start getting their attack reduced by half! (this happens when the monster is 30m or less to your ranged units).

So basically multiply however many rounds of attack you’re getting in before your main unit gets hit: lets say for us (to keep things simple), in our pretend report, we deduce that we have 4 rounds BEFORE your bowmen gets hit (that is, your bowmen get hit on the 5th round).

That means your army of 12345 bowmen can kill : 2057.9 * 4 = 8231 black widows in a fight (raid or conquer).

The beauty of using the simple method above, is that you don’t have to do too many calculations and take into account all the factors in the game which influences these things (these are listed below). All you need is just a few numbers. This is a nice, clean way to do things. but please note that if you upgrade something like your attack, you will need to re-calculate the "1vs1" attack.

This is because the calculation works on the basis that everything is still the same. Which means that the factors (see list below) have not changed.

All the factors that are already incorporated into the calculate above:

  • Attack value of your unit (Please note that the value that is shown when you viewing them in command centre incorporates any research upgrades);
  • Attack type (eg piercing) vs armor type [bonuses or penalties];
  • Your attack experience + any attack potions (this can be found in your Lord profile page);
  • The armour value of the monster;
  • If your unit gets a +/- 75% for that type of monster;

How to power up the Eiffel Tower?

Question

I'm kind of a bit stuck in powering up the Eiffel Tower. Any hints?

Answer

Some pictures back is a poster you can catch and use that shows a rocket (it's on the side of a bus-station if I remember correctly). It's pretty much the same thing as transforming Ciela.
