How do I kill Anti-Fairies?

Question

According to ZeldaDungeon.net, these are Anti-Fairies:

Anti-Fairy

The site says they can be destroyed by sprinkling magic powder on them. How do I do that? I'm toward the end of the Eastern Temple, just got the bow. Or am I not supposed to be able to kill them yet, and should just dance around them for now?

Asked by Kareen

Answer

You can get the Magic Powder from the witch's house north of Kakariko (before you enter the Eastern Palace):

Head back to the main part of Kakariko Village and go all the way up and out of the village. Head right to the next screen. Continue going right to the next screen. Keep going right another screen. Pass through the graveyard to the next screen. Go down a screen and cross the bridge. After the bridge go up a screen after killing the enemies and cutting through the bushes. Make a right here. Go up and give the mushroom to the witch just outside of the shop. Afterwords, head left a screen and return back to the witch. Go inside the shop and the magic powder will be waiting for you. Talk to the guy in there to fill up your hearts. Exit the shop. (source)

How to get to the secret blue rupee room?

Question

When I was a kid I stumbled upon the secret blue rupee room in Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past for the SNES. I was ridiculed at the time because I couldn't reproduce it. I remember in the dialog box that appears when you enter this room that it was placed there by someone called Chris Houlihan.

How do you get to this room in the game?

Asked by Solivagant

Answer

The Chris Houlihan room is named after the winner of a contest Nintendo Power ran in 1990 to have your name in an unnamed upcoming game. The existence of this room remained a secret for many years after the game was released.

The Chris Houlihan room

The game is actually programmed to transport you to this room as a fallback condition whenever an error occurs entering a new area. This means while it's possible to randomly stumble upon it accidentally, it's an incredibly rare event. However, there are at least a few reproducible ways to reach the room. The YouTube video eldarerathis linked to shows a few.

In the GBA port of LttP, the room data remains in the game, but it's no longer reachable without hacking the ROM. The Chris Houlihan reference was also removed from the text.

Stuck in Turtle Rock

Question

Link To The Past Level 7 map

  1. I'm keeping this room for later. All it contains is a full potion of magic.
  2. "2" marks the spot for a couple of chests. This room and the one next to it are made by a bunch of "bubbles" connected by a pipe system I drew in black.

Note. I escaped the left half of 1F E4 through the magic mirror, as I couldn't find any other way out.

Errata corrige: point 2 is in the middle of B1F C3, not C4 as I have mistakenly drawn.

I don't have any key. I imagine 2 holds the big key, but without a key to open that yellow passage I can't get there. I checked every room at least twice. Where did I miss out?

Answer

Unfortunately, I can't seem to recall the location of all the keys, so here's a link to a wiki with a map...Turtle Rock
