Lateral defender does not help my wing in PES 11

Question

Premise: I really don't know the soccer technical terms in English so I hope you'll understand me.

I'm playing a classical 4-4-2. When one of my wings has the ball I can't get my lateral defenders to help them. They remain behind the centerfield line instead of going forward to get the ball and cross.

The UI is a "little bit" ugly, I can't find any option to give the instruction to my player.

Answer

Under Team Style in the tactics screen, Player Support and Attacking Style are the key settings.

A higher Player Support value will make players more likely to make forward runs ahead of the man in possession.

A higher Attacking Style value will make players more likely to make runs wide, rather than through the middle.

Perhaps look at Barcelona's tactics, as they tend to have very aggressive full-backs.

What tricks are possible when playing PES 2010 on a keyboard?

I have been playing PES 2010 for a long time now, but being a hardcore PC gamer I never really got to grips with a gamepad. I am much better playing with a keyboard, but it seems that to do some of the nicest tricks you need the analog controls found on a pad. Are there any interesting / effective tricks that can be done on a keyboard without breaking one's fingers?

When is possible to add a team to “My Desired Team”?

I'm playing BAL mode.I'm on the first year of a 3 years contract with FC Twente and I have the third agent (100,000). When I'm searching for a club, it seems I can't add them to "My desired team" list so that my agent will start negotiations.

When is it possible to do that?

It may be possible only when the transfer window is open. In real life, the summer transfer window for the Eredivisie seems to run from July 1 through August 31 or September 1, and the winter transfer window runs from January 1 through January 31. If you aren't currently in a transfer window, you may not be able to ask your agent to start negotiations with a team.

What are my options to trick a player on one-on-one?

In Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 for Xbox 360, what are my options to trick/surpass a player on one-on-one while I have the ball and I'm on attack? What are the button combinations to perform these actions?

I'm playing in Regular and sometimes in Professional mode if that matters.

You can use feints. Here is an excellent tutorial:

Outrunning in PES 2011 doesn't work that well, even when your player should be faster than the defender. They say they've fixed this in 2012.

Setting up "Become a Legend" mode in PES 11

I'm kinda disappointed by the gameplay of "Become a Legend" mode in PES 11. I'll explain why: I have Fifa 10 on my Xbox and I've played with the "same" mode in there but it's really different.

What I'm saying is that in Fifa 10 I control only my player but I can call a pass, a cross etc...in PES I can't do any of that and sometimes the AI of PES it's not really quick in completing a passage or doing something trickier like a 1-2 (that's the term we use in Italy, basically I pass the ball to you and you pass to me the ball back). In Fifa 10 I can do this because I can call the action (and if it's not completed I lose points). Is possible to obtain something like that in PES 11?

Double "click" L1 (LB on Xbox I think) to ask for the ball. Whether you get it or not depends on how high is your team work. You may be able to get a 1-2 this way.

Please note, that the player may not pass the ball right away, or maybe he'll pass to somebody else, who'll try to pass it to you. If your team work is high enough he'll try to pass it even when it's obvious that it'll be intercepted by opposing player.

Also, the pass is always made on the ground, so if you wan't a cross don't call for the ball.

I am a PES fan and haven't played FIFA's mode, but I think BAL sucks. I really hope they'll do something about it in PES 2012.
