(Alternate title: How can I float like a turian and sting like a drell)?
I know that each race has different abilities available to it (eg. a human adept has different abilities than an asari adept), what other differences exist between races?
Answer
Aside from the obvious class limitations, where the races differentiate the most is their access to Evasion/Heavy Melee abilities and the amount of Base Health/Shielding they begin with.
Evasion
- Krogans and Turians do not have any special evasion mechanism
- Humans, Salarians, and Quarians can do a combat roll
- Salarians and Quarians can also do a jump to the side
- Asari can slide on biotic energy
- Drell can do flips
Heavy Melee
- Only Krogans and Asari have heavy melee abilities
- Krogans charge and swing their weapons at their enemies, which can cause massive knockback/staggering
- Asari unleash a PBAoE (Point Blank Area of Effect) biotic pulse (similar to Nova)
Base Stats*
- Humans begin with 500 health/shielding
- Turians begin with 500 health and 750 shielding
- Drell begin with 500 health and 250 barrier
*I can't check the other races for the base stats at the moment because I live in the EU and the Multiplayer in my demo doesn't seem to function anymore because ME3's out in the NA territories. Current numbers have been pulled from here.
