Question
When I pick up extra ammo off of fallen enemies or laying around the environment, it refills some amount of the ammo in all of my equipped weapons.
How much ammo does each additional clip refill? Is it a percentage of the total ammo for each weapon? Does it vary depending on weapon type or model? Is there any difference between the ammo refill rate of my active weapon and my reserve weapons?
Answer
A single ammo clip has the following effects on weapons:
- Sniper: 4 rounds in a 10 round gun (40%); 16 in a 42 round gun (38%)
- Assault Rifle: 96 rounds in a 240 round gun (40%)
- Pistol: 44 rounds in a 111 round gun (40%)
- Shotgun: 8 rounds in a 20 round gun (40%)
These roughly equate to ~40% of a single gun's ammo capacity (note that it will round down when getting this number). Note that this is on normal difficulty and doesn't necessarily translate to all weapons.
If multiple guns are in need of ammo then all of them will receive the same amount as they would were they the only one in need of ammo.
Also note that ammo will respawn given enough time, so if you are really in need of some ammo, camping a spot will can easily refill your gun in roughly 2-3 respawns.
