Question
I'm looking for the name of a game I've played a long time ago. Things I remember:
- Top-down view. It looked nice, don't recall if it was 3D or just good quality sprites.
- Playing as some sort of flying vehicle, hovercraft-like.
- Aim with the mouse, click to shoot. IIRC enemies were both aerial and ground-based.
- The vehicle was flying low, so small trees could be cleared but tall trees would block movements.
- At the start / end of each level, the vehicle would take off / land.
EDIT:
- Platform: PC
- Time frame: somewhere between 1995 and 2000, I guess. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a DOS game.
- Not a scroll shooter: you could roam around freely, move back into visited areas of the level, etc. Though I don't remember that the levels were particularly large.
- I don't think it was a well-known game, and I don't know if it had a console version.
Answer
Perhaps Firefight by ChaosWorks?
