Alien game with spacebike - possibly an adventure game

I remember playing it when I was young. I think it must have been 1996 or later. You were basically a alien and had to find pieces around the universe. I remember the start of the game you had to find a bike jacket so you could use your space bike to cross space to go to another station/store/location.

I have been banging my brains for ages! Any ideas?

I'm not sure if this is right or not but I think it was called "Alien Rampage". What you've described rings a bell so this is what I thought of. It was a 2D side scrolling game, similar to Doom graphics wise.
