Post-apocalyptic road rage game with snappy dialogue

Question

I'm trying to find the name of a game I briefly played in the mid-2000s. It was set in a post-apocalyptic world, Mad-Max style, and featured mostly combat between customized cars.

It was 3D, had a single-player storyline with endbosses (also in cars). It had a light-hearted, whimsical feel to it, mainly because of the two main characters whose car you controlled, which were constantly bantering and bickering with each other. It might have been in german, maybe exclusively so.

Googling for post-apoc racing game finds a lot of old games, but not this one.

Answer

Sounds like Bandits: Phoenix Rising. I thoroughly love that game!
