Question
I have recently downloaded the Battlefield 3 beta on the Xbox 360 and have a couple of questions about the game:
- Are there any flash/stun grenades in this game? If yes, how do you use them?
- How do you spot an enemy?
- Do you have an unlimited amount of medic kits in the assault class?
- Can you cook grenades?
- How do you pick up a kill opponents or teammate's weapon?
Answer
No, stun/flash grenades are not in Battlefield 3. There are however smoke grenades (fired from a grenade launcher) and a flashlight which can blind enemy players.
Spotting an enemy involves pushing your "Spot" button while aiming at an enemy. The default spot button on Xbox/PS3 is "Back/Select". The default on PC is "Q".
Yes you have an unlimited amount, however there is a 3 second cooldown in between throwing them, and you can only have one deployed at a time (your old one will be removed when you throw a new one).
No you cannot. You can hold a grenade for longer buy holding the button used to throw the grenade (left bumper/L1 on consoles), however this is not really "cooking" the grenade as it doesn't shorten the time it takes for the grenade to explode (which is what cooking a grenade really does), it will always take the same amount of time to explode from the time it comes out of your hands.
Stand near the weapon and hold your reload key. A side note here is that you don't just pick up their weapon, you pick up their whole kit. That means that if you're a recon, and you pick up an assault class's weapon, you'll also receive their med pack and defibrillators if those were the gadgets they chose.
