Question
Before we had a family computer (in say 1997) I went to a friend's place and played a game which was called, MAYBE, "The Quest to Conquer the World", though it may have just been a sub-title or slogan and I have just forgotten the actual title.
All I remember about the gameplay is that it involved exploring a world map with black fog of war in a boat, and fighting Native Indians on a turn-based chessboard. The graphics were fairly professional as far as I can recall, so I doubt it was some unknown hobby game; more likely my friend got it from a demo CD. I have googled for this extensively but found nothing. Answer goes to someone who provides some evidence of a game with the chessboard battle mechanic...
