Question
I have an Acer Aspire 5552G with Athlon X2 P340, ATI HD5470 and 2 GB DDR3 memory. Playing Starcraft 2 is next to impossible with this configuration. Will adding more memory allow me to play with decent framerate or is the system configuration not enough to handle Starcraft 2?
Answer
The system requirements have 1 or 1.5 GB RAM as the minimum, with 2 GB being recommended. So that shouldn't be your problem unless you're running a lot of applications in the background as well. Besides, low memory won't normally make your framerate consistently lower.
The video card is almost definitely the problem. It's significantly slower than the recommended HD 3870 (it's a desktop card, so yes it's better despite the smaller number) and has a quarter of the memory bandwidth.
If it's unplayable with all the video settings cranked down then I think you're out of luck. Your processor is a bit slow at 2.2 GHz (recommended is 2.4 GHz), though I would assume that dual-2.2 exceeds the minimum single-2.6 GHz requirement. Iit depends on what's going on in your system and how SCII handles threading.
