Other ways to get Diamonds in-game in Runes of Magic?

Question

Are there any other ways to get or earn Diamonds in Runes of Magic?

I see there's a category for Diamonds in the Auction House, but has anyone seen Diamonds for sale? If so, what did they fetch?

Are there any quests or drops that yield Diamonds?

Answer

Unfortunately, the only way to acquire diamonds is to buy them. In the past, you used to be able to purchase diamonds on the Auction House with gold, but this was supposedly changed due to the amount of "gold farmer bots."

Defense Grid: more towers or upgrades?

Question

In Defense Grid: The Awakening, is it more cost-efficient to build more towers or upgrade existing ones?

Answer

I asked devs the same question and turned out there is no difference from both cost and damage points of views (except for temporals and commander towers). I upgrade towers that are located in most valuable places (i.e. where aliens pass several times) where space is limited.

Quote from a dev:

The choice is actually entirely up to you.

level 1 gun tower - cost 100

level 2 gun tower - cost 200 (total paid = 300)

level 3 gun tower - cost 400 (total paid = 700)

The damage a level 2 gun tower does is exactly 3 times as much as a level 1 gun tower. The damage a level 3 gun tower is exactly 7 times as much as a level 1 gun tower.

Essentially, a single level 3 gun tower is equal to seven level 1 gun towers. They do the same total damage and the total cost of each are also the same.

If you're building a maze, the seven towers is probably the better choice. If you're limited on space, or you have a kill zone setup with a temporal tower, then perhaps the full upgraded gun tower is the better choice.

It really depends on your playstyle and the choices you make for any given map.

By the way, the above example is true for all towers. (Except the Temporal and Command tower, they're special.)

Minecraft obsidian shaft

Question

I would like to mine lots of obsidian without paying a lot of attention. I was thinking about a 1X1 column of obsidian going straight to bedrock. I could look down and put a weight on my track pad button. What is the best way to make a 1X1 column of obsidian underground? I would prefer if i did not need a huge amount of lava buckets. I was thinking mabey something about the redstone to obsidian glitch.

Answer

Whether you use lava buckets or redstone to obsidian, my recommendation for the actual mining part would be to get a copy of InfinitiesLoop's controlpack mod.

It contains a couple features which will help, specifically auto-run and auto-mine. With one keypress each you will be able to mine and move without any further input. It's a client-side mod (it'll work fine with your server) and works with mcpatcher.

Also, making a line of obsidian to mine is FAR easier and less time consuming than making a column.

One last suggestion is to consider building molds for your lava blocks wherever you want obsidian and then cooling it in place instead of making it somewhere else, mining it, and then placing it. Forming it in place with molds saves me a lot of time when I'm building obsidian structures.

Can I carry more than two weapons at once?

Question

I'm playing DNF...I know it isn't that good that it supposed to be, but I loved Duke Nukem 3D. My problem is that I can only have 2 weapons on me. What a nonsense. Duke can fire 5 weapons at the same time while kicking and moving.

So do you know any workaround here to be able to have more than 2 weapons?

Answer

You can have four weapons - two guns, tripmines, pipebombs.

Since you're on the PC version, somebody might mod it at some point to let you have more than two guns. Maybe some of the trainers that are out could provide a workaround .

Best way to play dota(warcraft3) on mac?

Question

I owned a macbook pro. I want to play a PC game called WarCraft 3, Dota. I have google and done some research on how to play dota on mac.

(S1)Most of them would recommend buy Warcraft 3 for mac version (yes, there is warcraft 3 for mac). However, I already owned a PC version, and I dont want to waste another $60++ bucks to buy a mac version (its an old game as you guys already know).

Thus, I come across some forums suggesting using VM (virtual machine) or using bootcamp to install windows and play.

(S2) Using bootcamp and install windows. Well, it sounds good for me, but after I do another research, if I am not good in, or no experience in bootcamp-ing, I might crash or need to reformat my Mac(when partitioning), and apple also recommend keep doing backup for your mac when using bootcamp, I do not want to go through all this troublesome things, thus I will not choose this method.

Last, my (S3) method is to install virtual machine. I use VirtualBox, and already install a windows xp, running and works perfectly fine. Now, I am wondering, if i install warcraft into this virtual machine, and play game, approximately 5 hours a day, will it crash my Mac? Okay, to give a summary, following are my questions about running Wacraft 3 on VM Windows XP on MacBook Pro:

1) Will the game lag, the video render etc?

2) Most importantly, will it damage my mac?

If you have others methods of playing dota (warcraft3) on mac other than what I mentioned above, please do share with me (or, mac users). Thank you

NOTE: (S) means Suggestion:

Answer

Firs, you should reconsider not buying it. You can have i for 20 USD, available for download at Blizzard site. Furthermore, IIRC you can register you activation key on the new Battle.net site and download the mac version for free.

As for you questions about the VM machine:

  • First, it should not damage you mac in any way, that's the point of a virtual machine. It's software computer, using a software hard drive. If it damage your machine, there is something really wrong with the program.

  • Warcraft 3 could run on it, but if it require graphic acceleration, don't expect too much. Some VMs have implemented graphics acceleration, but it is mostly experimental. Although, I think it should be OK for Warcraft3.

What pathway do I have to take to find Ending #1 in 999?

Question

In Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors, I've managed to find five of the six endings. The only one that remains is the ending indicated by the first of the six question mark boxes. I feel like I've exhausted every possible path, and yet still haven't found this ending! Spoiling as little content of the path as possible, how do I find the first ending?

Answer

You must first finish the ending where you open the safe (which it sounds like you have).

Then go through doors 4, 7, and 1, making all the right choices to let people blab at you.

The "right" choices are

-Take the 4 leaf clover from santa
-Let June talk about the titanic (room 4) and Ice-9 experiment (in the freezer)
-Give it to clover in room 7 and talk to 7 about the Ice-9 experiment
- say "Patch it up" to clover's question in door 7
- Yell at Ace to get out of room 1when prompted
- Look at monitor after ZERO is spelled out on screen

How do I unlock the Mission Accomplished Achievement?

Question

I'm trying to get the super neato hat for TF2 that can be unlocked simply by going through the first level of the Clockwork in Spiral Knights.

The method of unlocking it is as follows:

Reach the first Clockworks Terminal

I thought that I had done this...twice. I went up to a terminal in Haven, entered Clockworks Level 1, proceeded to bash a bunch of wolves and make my way through the level, finishing at the elevator.

I even went down another level (which ended up being a Garden).

I thought that getting through the first level and reaching the terminal/elevator at the end would be sufficient.....what am I missing?

Answer

It's a bit confusing, but several levels into the clockworks (regardless of which gate you pick), there's a "Clockworks terminal" level. That level is basically a midpoint of the tier, where you can heal up for free, and purchase recipes from a vendor. That's what you need to reach for the achievement (and hat). Hope this helps.
