Is it possible to find Stargate Games? [closed]

Question

The Stargate franchise (which I'm a huge fan of) developed a couple games for PC, including Stargate Worlds and Stargate Resistence. I never got to play any of them, sadly.

Everytime I see the gameplay trailer of SG Worlds I still think it's awesome, but unfortunately the game was never published. ಠ︵ಠ凸 Maybe some of you were lucky enough to participate in the closed Beta (anyone?!?!). Do you think the developers might release the source code to the public since the game isn't going anywhere anymore? Should they? I would like to put my hands on it, for sure.

SG Resistence was out in the market, I don't know how successful it was but I only knew about it AFTER they announced that the servers were going to be shut down. I don't think the game stayed long enough for people to reverse engineer it and develop a pirate server. Am I wrong?

I'm looking for official Stargate games, or at least some popular Stargate mods that might have been developed for other games (like Half-Life, etc).

EDIT: This blog seems to have a lot of info on what happened to those games.

Answer

As wikipedia says, Stargate Worlds was canceled and Stargate Resistence was shut down on January 15, 2011.

In the case of Stargate Worlds, since it was shut down before release, it's unlikely that the developers will release the source code for it (and even if they release the source code, there's still art assets that would need to be released, and that hardly ever happens).

In the case of Stargate: Resistance, it's unlikely that a pirate server was ever made, although it might be feasible since the game was based on the Unreal 3 engine. That said, Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment, the developers for both games, is shut down, and based on their website, they appear be undergoing legal issues.

On November 18, 2011, the receiver also filed with the court, and mailed to all known Creditors, a proposed plan to liquidate the remaining assets of the Cheyenne Entities.

Given that, it's extremely unlikely that anything from either game will be released publicly (source code or art assets).

Other than that, a quick google search of "Stargate mods" brings up this list of Stargate Game mods. It appears that the biggest ones are a Morrowind Stargate version and a few Half Life mods.
