Question
I've only played one placement match so far and I won it because my opponents were less than stellar. I'm afraid that if I get similar placement matches in the future and end up winning them all I might get put into a league beyond my skill.
How many different leagues are there?
Once placed in a league, is there any way to move to a different one? How?
Answer
Currently (2011-12-07) the list is:
- Grand Master: The top 200 players in each region. Is created only after 2 weeks into a new season. Players that are not active for a certain time get demoted to Master.
- Master: The top 2% of Diamond League players go there.
- Diamond: Top 18% after GM and Master. Not available from your first placement matches, you must climb up from Platinum. Although if one was Diamond during last season he can get placed instantly into Diamond after 1 placement match in the new season.
- Platinum: Standard League
- Gold: Standard League
- Silver: Standard League
- Bronze: Standard League
- Practice: You can play fifty games here before your placement matches (you can leave whenever you want though)
You're also in "placement mode" or what have you for your first 5 matches to seed you into one of the standard leagues above.
